Job summary

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED or equivalent; 1+ years retail experience
• Effective interpersonal and customer service skills
• Friendly, approachable and outgoing demeanour; team player
• Sound judgement and decision making
• Strong math skills (discounts, proportions, percentages)
• Basic algebra and geometry (circumferences, volume)
• Ability to read/interpret documents (training manuals)
• Good oral and written communication; ability to speak to groups of customers/employees

Responsibilities

• Encourage teamwork through cooperative interactions with co-workers.
• Welcome, serve and assist customers to provide excellent customer service.
• Ensure proper staffing to address service levels and efficient utilization of labor.
• Operate equipment according to company guidelines.
• Communicate effectively with customers and respond to questions promptly.
• Ensure opening/closing procedures follow SOPs.
• Adhere to SOPs for storage and code dating of products.
• Manage price changes and in-store transfers in the manager's absence.
• Remove and dispose of unsellable products as needed.
• Follow merchandising guidelines, display models and packaging.
• Monitor temperature/placement of products for freshness.
• Oversee product portion controls to meet SOPs.
• Ensure receiving procedures are followed in the manager's absence.
• Proof, bake, glaze, top and thaw products per SOPs.
• Stocking duties and correct stock placement.
• Comply with all company/department policies and SOPs.
• Follow food safety and sanitation regulations; report unsafe conditions.
• Maintain ability to work all shifts and relocate if required.
• Physical demands include lifting 5-80 lbs, moving 200-2000 lbs, exposure to temperatures.
