BAKERY/LEAD CLERK (Finance)

Backup the department manager and oversee the department successfully in the manager's absence, mastering the Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) including merchandising, order guides, scheduling, contribution to profit, people development, and customer service. Minimum Qualifications:

• High school diploma or GED, 1+ years' retail experience or equivalent
• Effective interpersonal and customer service skills
• Friendly, approachable, and outgoing demeanor; team player
• Sound judgment and decision-making skills
• Strong math skills (e.g., discounts, proportions, percentages)
• Basic algebra and geometry skills (e.g., calculations of circumferences, volume)
• Ability to read/interpret documents (e.g., training manuals)
• Good oral and written communication skills
• Ability to speak effectively to groups of customers/employees

Responsibilities:

• Encourage teamwork through cooperative interactions with co-workers.
• Welcome, serve, and assist customers to provide excellent service.
• Ensure proper staffing to meet service levels and optimize labor use.
• Operate equipment (e.g., knives, box cutters, pricing guns) per company guidelines.
• Communicate effectively with customers, responding to questions and requests promptly.
• Follow opening/closing procedures according to SOPs.
• Adhere to storage and code dating SOPs for all products.
• Ensure timely price changes and in-store transfers in the manager's absence.
• Remove and dispose of unsellable products.
• Follow merchandising guidelines, including signage and product packaging.
• Monitor product temperatures to maintain freshness.
• Oversee product portion control to meet SOPs.
• Adhere to receiving procedures in the manager's absence.
• Perform baking, glazing, and thawing of products as per SOPs.
• Stock products correctly and ensure proper placement.
• Follow all policies, SOPs, and food safety regulations.
• Maintain flexibility to work all shifts and relocate if needed.
• Physical demands include walking on wet surfaces, standing, lifting up to 80 lbs., and pushing/pulling up to 2,000 lbs.

Salary Range: $18.85 - $21.85 per hour
