Job summary

Vallarta Supermarkets is hiring a Bakery Dispatcher in California to ensure bakery displays are stocked and inviting. You will support the bakery team, keep areas clean and safe, and assist customers with orders in-store and by phone.

You will help merchandise, prepare products, follow safety regulations, and collaborate with management to meet inventory needs while maintaining excellent customer service.

Qualifications

• Friendly, customer-focused attitude with leadership skills.
• Knowledge of baking methods and ingredients.
• Experience using bakery equipment, ovens, and tools.
• Basic computer and math skills (Excel, Word, Outlook).
• Must speak, read, write, and understand English.
• Must be legally authorized to work in the U.S.
• Able to work in a fast-paced retail setting with direct customer interaction.
• Flexible schedule: afternoons, evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Customer service for bakery and cake orders in-store and by phone.
• Merchandising: rotate and stock products to keep bakery cases fresh and appealing.
• Product preparation: prepare doughs, batters, and mixtures; pack, weigh, and price merchandise.
• Food safety & sanitation: follow safety program and regulations; clean equipment and surfaces.
• Team support: train when needed and communicate with bakery management regarding inventory needs.
• Operations: transport bakery products to storage areas, stock shelves, monitor signage and freshness.
• Compliance: follow rules, safety guidelines, labeling accuracy.
• Other duties: perform additional tasks as assigned.
