Job summary

Hy-Vee is seeking a Bakery Assistant Department Manager to partner with the Bakery Department Manager in Minnesota. You will oversee daily production, lead a team of bakers and clerks, and ensure fresh, rotated product is always available for customers.

The role emphasizes training, scheduling, and maintaining high standards of cleanliness, safety, and customer service in a fast-paced bakery environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Over one year up to three years of related experience preferred.
• Ability to lift up to 100 pounds and operate equipment.
• Ability to work in cooler/freezer environments.
• Must be 18+.

Responsibilities

• Deliver outstanding customer service by greeting customers and addressing needs.
• Oversee daily production and schedule with Bakery Dept Manager.
• Train new employees and lead bakery team.
• Ensure cases are stocked and rotated with fresh product.
• Maintain department cleanliness and safety.
• Assist with ordering product and supplies.
• In absence of Dept Manager, assume management responsibilities.
• Support the day-to-day operations of the bakery team.
