Job summary

Hy-Vee’s Bakery Assistant Department Manager is a hands-on leadership role responsible for daily production, staff supervision, and ensuring top-quality bakery products. You’ll partner with the Bakery Department Manager to maintain freshness, proper rotation, and strong customer service in a fast-paced setting.

You will create production schedules, assign tasks, train new employees, and lead the team to meet department standards.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent experience.
• 1–3 years of bakery or related supervisory experience preferred.
• Ability to lift up to 100 pounds and stand for extended periods.

Responsibilities

• Deliver outstanding customer service and resolve concerns promptly.
• Plan production schedules and assign tasks to bakers and staff.
• Train new employees and support bakery team development.
• Maintain department standards for production, cleanliness, and service.
• Coordinate activities and order products and supplies as needed.
