Job summary

The Fresh Market is seeking a Bakery Department Lead in Annapolis, MD to support the Bakery Department Manager in delivering an exceptional guest experience. You will lead by example, coach team members, and ensure the department looks its best while solving problems quickly.

Expect to manage schedules, inventory, and merchandising to boost sales and maintain high standards. You’ll work side by side with your manager and teammates, embodying hospitality and teamwork.

Qualifications

• Progressive management experience in retail or similar setting.
• Strong leadership and team development abilities.
• Proven ability to deliver guest experiences while meeting goals.
• Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
• Flexible schedule including evenings, weekends and holidays.
• Basic proficiency with POS systems, scheduling tools, and MS Office.
• Must be 21 years of age or older.

Responsibilities

• Help monitor labor schedules to meet productivity and budget goals.
• Assist in maintaining inventory levels and support ordering.
• Act as a resource for team members in the manager’s absence.
• Model and coach hospitality by engaging guests and creating positive experiences.
• Help implement merchandising strategies to maximize sales.
• Assist in analyzing department financial and performance metrics.
• Collaborate with department leaders to drive store success.
• Leverage available technology to perform tasks.
