The Fresh Market in Virginia Beach is seeking a Bakery Department Lead to help run the department with care and purpose. You’ll support the Bakery Department Manager, coach your team, and ensure every guest feels welcome while the department looks its best.

Qualifications

• 1+ years of progressive management experience in supermarkets, retail, restaurants, hotels, or general business.
• Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and develop high-performing teams.
• Must be able to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Monitor labor schedules to meet productivity and budget goals.
• Maintain inventory accuracy and support ordering processes.
• Guide team in the manager's absence and act as acting manager when needed.
• Demonstrate hospitality by engaging guests and creating positive experiences.
• Assist in merchandising strategies and promotional plans to maximize sales.
• Analyze department financial and performance metrics.
