Job summary

Meijer, a family-owned retailer, is hiring a store leader in Michigan to plan, direct and coach teams across departments. You will drive customer service, supervise staffing, and promote promotions while upholding company standards and safety.

This role emphasizes coaching, training, P&L responsibility, and maintaining a prime shopping environment. Candidates should have 2–3 years of retail experience and at least 1 year in a supervisory capacity, with strong communication and problem-solving

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• 2–3 years of related retail experience.
• 1 year of management experience.
• Rotational assignments in meat, bakery, produce or deli; customer service and product flow helpful.
• Clear communication to team members with direction.
• Ability to resolve conflict and address root causes.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
• Ability to analyze financial and statistical information for decisions; teach suggestive selling.
• Ability to mentor teammates across roles.
• Successful completion of required certifications.

Responsibilities

• Plan, direct and supervise team members in daily store operations.
• Mentor and coach team members; drive customer service and sales.
• Implement strategies to improve customer service and store performance.
• Maintain store appearance and product presentation to standards.
• Staffing, selection and hiring to meet needs.
• Promote career development and succession planning.
• Document disciplinary actions and recommendations for discharge.
• Oversee P&L, sales and shrink targets for the department.
• Model fast, friendly service and adhere to safety practices.
• Ensure team is trained and completes required training.
• Communicate Meijer Friendly Initiative in meetings and conversations.
• Maintain reliable attendance and perform other duties as assigned.
