Job summary

Kroger Family of Companies is seeking a Grocery Clerk for the Bakery/Deli department in West Virginia. You will prepare items per customer requests, assist shoppers, and maintain a safe, clean environment to encourage return visits. You will support the department manager in achieving sales goals and uphold quality standards.

Responsibilities include using bakery equipment, offering samples, stocking, labeling, and ensuring correct temperatures and food safety compliance. Training provided.

Responsibilities

• Prepare items per customer requests using proper bakery equipment.
• Offer product samples to help customers discover new items.
• Inform customers of bakery/deli specials.
• Provide customers with fresh products and correct portions to prevent shrink
• Recommend deli or bakery items to meet customer needs
• Use bakery equipment (refrigerators, freezers, slicers, ovens) per guidelines
• Prepare foods according to temperature logs and cooking instructions
• Measure and mix ingredients as recipe directs
• Adequately prepare, package, label and inventory ingredients
• Check product quality and review sell-by dates
• Use kitchen equipment (stove, scale, fryer, steamer, robot coupe)
• Label, stock and inventory department merchandise
• Report ordering/shipping discrepancies to manager
• Know store layout to locate products for customers
• Stay current with ads and promotions
• Gain knowledge of products and respond to questions
• Maintain inventory/stocking conditions and note discrepancies
• Ensure proper temperatures in cases and logs
