Job summary

Kroger Family of Companies is seeking a Grocery Clerk (Bakery/Deli) in Ridgeland, MS to provide exceptional customer service and keep a safe, clean environment. You will assist the department manager in achieving department sales and monitor quality standards, while encouraging associates to deliver excellent customer service.

Responsibilities include preparing items per customer requests, offering samples, maintaining inventory, and ensuring accurate labeling and temperatures per food safety

Qualifications

• Customer service skills demonstrated in a retail setting.
• Strong communication abilities for interacting with customers and team.
• Basic math for daily cash handling and measurements.
• Ability to obtain a current food handler permit after hire.

Responsibilities

• Prepare bakery items per customer requests using proper equipment.
• Inform customers of bakery/deli specials and offer samples.
• Ensure product freshness and correct portion sizes to prevent shrink.
• Label, stock and inventory department merchandise and check sell-by dates.
• Follow food safety guidelines and temperature logs.
