Job summary

Kroger Family of Companies in Mississippi seeks a deli team member to deliver outstanding customer service and maintain a safe, clean environment. You will assist the department manager in meeting sales goals and follow the Customer 1st strategy. Expect to handle deli prep, packaging, labeling and sample offerings for customers.

You will slice and prepare deli items, respond to questions, stock and inventory merchandise, and ensure proper temperatures and safety guidelines are followed.

Qualifications

• Must be able to handle stressful situations in a fast-paced environment.
• Effective communication with customers and team members is essential.
• Knowledge of basic math for counting and transactions.
• Must be at least 18 years of age.

Responsibilities

• Promote trust and respect among associates.
• Create an environment where customers feel welcome, important and appreciated by answering questions about products.
• Slice deli meats and cheeses to customer requests using proper deli equipment.
• Prepare deli/bakery/bistro items per customer requests using proper bakery equipment.
• Offer product samples to help customers discover new items or products.
• Inform customers of deli/bakery/bistro specials.
• Provide customers with fresh products and correct portion sizes; maintain safety and quality standards.
• Adhere to food safety regulations and temperature logs; maintain equipment and inventory.
