Job summary

Kroger is seeking a Bakery/Deli Clerk to create an outstanding customer experience in our Goshen, IN store. You will assist the department manager to reach sales and profit goals while maintaining safe, clean conditions and adhering to food safety standards.

You will prepare items per customer requests, offer samples, inform customers of specials, and help keep the bakery/deli area stocked. Excellent customer service and math basics are required.

Responsibilities

• Prepare bakery/deli items per customer requests.
• Offer product samples to help customers discover items.
• Inform customers of bakery/deli specials.
• Provide fresh products in correct portions to minimize shrink.
• Recommend items to meet customer needs.
• Operate bakery equipment per guidelines (refrigerators, slicers, ovens).
• Follow temperature logs and cooking instructions.
• Label, stock and inventory department merchandise.
• Identify and report discrepancies in inventory.
• Create a welcoming environment and deliver excellent customer service.
