Responsibilities:
- Offer product samples to help customers discover new items or inquire about products.
- Inform customers about bakery and deli specials.
- Provide customers with fresh products as ordered, ensuring correct portions to prevent shrinkage.
- Recommend bakery or deli items to meet customer needs.
- Use bakery equipment such as refrigerators, freezers, slicers, and ovens following company guidelines.
- Prepare foods according to temperature logs and cooking instructions.
- Measure, prepare, and mix ingredients per recipes using appropriate utensils and equipment.
- Package, label, and inventory ingredients and merchandise.
- Check product quality, review 'sell by' dates, and take appropriate actions.
- Operate kitchen equipment properly, including stoves, scales, fryers, steamers, etc.
- Label, stock, and inventory department merchandise.
- Report discrepancies in product ordering/shipping to the manager.
- Understand store layout and locate products for customers.
- Stay current with ads, promotions, and seasonal items.
- Maintain knowledge of products and respond to customer questions and suggestions.
- Monitor inventory and stocking conditions, noting discrepancies.
- Maintain proper temperatures in cases and coolers, keeping logs.
- Promote trust and respect among team members.
- Create a welcoming environment for customers, answering questions and making suggestions.
- Adhere to all food safety regulations and guidelines.
- Follow safety procedures, identify unsafe conditions, and notify management.
- Inspect equipment regularly and report repairs needed.
- Report customer or employee accidents to management.
- Work cooperatively in a high-paced, sometimes stressful environment.
- Manage conflicts reasonably and cooperatively.
- Act with honesty and integrity regarding customer and business information.
- Follow directions and seek help as needed to resolve issues.
- Support and assist minors, individuals with special needs, and older adults.
