Responsibilities include:
- Offering product samples to help customers discover new items or inquire about products.
- Informing customers of bakery and deli specials.
- Providing fresh products as ordered, ensuring correct portion sizes to prevent shrinkage.
- Recommending bakery or deli items to meet customer needs.
- Using bakery equipment such as refrigerators, freezers, slicers, and ovens according to guidelines.
- Preparing foods following temperature logs and cooking instructions.
- Measuring, preparing, and mixing ingredients per recipes using appropriate utensils and equipment.
- Properly packaging, labeling, and inventorying ingredients and products.
- Checking product quality and freshness, reviewing 'sell by' dates, and taking necessary actions.
- Operating kitchen equipment safely, including stoves, scales, fryers, steamers, etc.
- Labeling, stocking, and inventory management of department merchandise.
- Reporting discrepancies in product ordering or shipping.
- Understanding store layout and assisting customers in locating products.
- Staying current with advertisements and promotions.
- Maintaining product knowledge and responding to customer questions and suggestions.
- Monitoring inventory levels and noting discrepancies.
- Ensuring proper temperatures in cases and coolers, maintaining logs.
- Promoting trust and respect among team members.
- Creating a welcoming environment for customers.
- Adhering to food safety regulations and safety procedures.
- Practicing preventive maintenance and reporting equipment issues.
