Key Responsibilities:

• Offer product samples to help customers discover new items or products they inquire about.
• Inform customers of bakery and/or deli specials.
• Provide customers with fresh products they have ordered and the correct portion size to prevent shrink.
• Recommend deli or bakery items to customers to ensure they get the products they want and need.
• Use all bakery equipment according to company guidelines, including refrigerators, freezers, slicers, and ovens.
• Prepare foods according to food temperature logs and follow cooking instructions.
• Measure, prepare, and mix ingredients according to recipes using appropriate utensils and equipment.
• Package, label, and inventory ingredients and merchandise appropriately.
• Check product quality to ensure freshness, reviewing "sell by" dates and taking appropriate actions.
• Properly use kitchen equipment such as stoves, scales, fryers, steamers, and robots.
• Label, stock, and inventory department merchandise.
• Report discrepancies in product ordering/shipping to the department manager.
• Understand the store layout and locate products when requested by customers.
• Stay current with ads and promotions.
• Maintain knowledge of products sold within the department and respond to customer questions with suggestions.
• Monitor inventory and stocking conditions, noting discrepancies.
• Ensure proper temperatures in cases and coolers, maintaining temperature logs.
• Promote trust and respect among associates.
• Create a welcoming environment for customers, answering questions and making them feel valued.
• Adhere to all food safety regulations and guidelines.
• Follow safety procedures, identify unsafe conditions, and notify management.
• Inspect equipment and notify management of repairs needed.
• Report customer or employee accidents.
• Work cooperatively in a high-paced, sometimes stressful environment.
• Manage conflict in a reasonable, nonconfrontational manner.
• Act with honesty and integrity regarding customer and business information.
• Follow directions and seek assistance to resolve issues.
• Support and assist minors, individuals with special needs, and older adults.
