Minimum Position Qualifications:
- Customer service skills
- Effective communication skills
- Knowledge of basic math
- Ability to obtain a food handler's permit upon employment

Essential Job Functions:
- Prepare bakery and deli items per customer requests using proper equipment.
- Offer product samples to help customers discover new items or inquire about products.
- Inform customers of bakery and deli specials.
- Provide customers with their ordered products, ensuring correct portions to prevent shrinkage.
- Recommend bakery or deli items to customers to meet their needs.
- Use bakery equipment such as refrigerators, freezers, slicers, and ovens following company guidelines.
- Prepare foods according to food safety logs and cooking instructions.
- Measure, prepare, and mix ingredients according to recipes using appropriate utensils and equipment.
- Package, label, and inventory ingredients and merchandise.
- Check product quality, review "sell by" dates, and take appropriate actions.
- Properly operate kitchen equipment including stoves, scales, fryers, steamers, and food processors.
- Label, stock, and inventory department merchandise.
- Report discrepancies in product ordering or shipping to management.
- Understand store layout and locate products upon customer request.
- Stay current with store promotions and advertisements.
- Maintain knowledge of products and respond to customer questions and suggestions.
- Monitor inventory and stocking conditions, noting discrepancies.
- Ensure proper temperature maintenance in cases and coolers, maintaining logs.
- Promote trust and respect among associates.
- Create a welcoming environment for customers, answering questions and making them feel valued.
- Adhere to food safety regulations and guidelines.
- Follow safety procedures, identify unsafe conditions, and notify management.
- Inspect equipment regularly and report repairs needed.
- Notify management of customer or employee accidents.
- Work cooperatively in high-paced, stressful environments.
- Manage conflicts in a reasonable, cooperative manner.
- Act with honesty and integrity regarding customer and business information.
- Follow directions and seek assistance to resolve issues.
