Essential Job Functions:

1. Prepare bakery and deli items according to customer requests using proper equipment.
2. Offer product samples to help customers discover new items or inquire about products.
3. Inform customers of bakery and/or deli specials.
4. Provide customers with fresh products, ensuring correct portions to minimize shrinkage.
5. Recommend bakery or deli items to customers based on their needs and preferences.
6. Use bakery equipment such as refrigerators, freezers, slicers, and ovens according to guidelines.
7. Follow proper procedures for food preparation, including temperature logs and cooking instructions.
8. Measure, prepare, and mix ingredients using appropriate utensils and equipment.
9. Package, label, and inventory ingredients and finished products.
10. Check product quality and freshness, reviewing "sell by" dates and taking necessary actions.
11. Operate kitchen equipment safely and correctly.
12. Label, stock, and inventory department merchandise.
13. Report discrepancies in product ordering or shipping.
14. Understand store layout to assist customers in locating products.
15. Stay informed about current and upcoming sales and promotions.
16. Maintain knowledge of products and respond to customer inquiries with suggestions.
17. Monitor inventory levels and report discrepancies.
18. Ensure proper temperature maintenance in cases and coolers, maintaining logs.
19. Promote a respectful and trustworthy environment among staff.
20. Create a welcoming environment for customers, answering questions and providing assistance.
21. Adhere to all food safety and safety procedures, reporting unsafe conditions.
22. Inspect equipment regularly and coordinate repairs as needed.
23. Report any accidents involving customers or employees.
24. Work cooperatively in a high-paced, sometimes stressful environment.
25. Manage conflicts professionally and cooperatively.
