Responsibilities include:

• Offering product samples to help customers discover new items or products they inquire about.
• Informing customers of bakery and/or deli specials.
• Providing customers with fresh products they have ordered and the correct portion size to prevent shrink.
• Recommending deli or bakery items to customers to ensure they get what they want and need.
• Using all bakery equipment according to company guidelines.
• Preparing foods according to food temperature logs and cooking instructions.
• Measuring, preparing and mixing ingredients using kitchen utensils and equipment.
• Properly preparing, packaging, labeling and inventorying ingredients.
• Checking product quality and reviewing "sell by" dates.
• Proper use of kitchen equipment such as refrigerators, freezers, slicers, and ovens.
• Labeling, stocking, and inventorying department merchandise.
• Reporting product ordering/shipping discrepancies.
• Understanding the store layout and locating products for customers.
• Staying current with ads and promotions.
• Maintaining knowledge of products and responding to customer questions and suggestions.
• Monitoring inventory and stock conditions.
• Ensuring proper temperatures and maintaining logs.
• Creating a welcoming environment for customers.
• Adhering to food safety regulations and safety procedures.
• Practicing preventive maintenance and reporting equipment issues.
