Minimum Position Qualifications:
- Customer Service skills
- Effective communication skills
- Knowledge of basic math
- Ability to obtain current food handlers permit once employed
Desired Previous Job Experience:

- Bakery or Deli experience is helpful

Essential Job Functions:
- Prepare bakery and deli items per customer requests using proper equipment.
- Offer product samples to help customers discover new items or inquire about products.
- Inform customers of bakery and/or deli specials.
- Provide customers with fresh products that they have ordered and the correct portion size to prevent shrink.
- Recommend deli or bakery items to ensure customer satisfaction.
- Use bakery equipment such as refrigerators, freezers, slicers, and ovens according to company guidelines.
- Prepare foods following temperature logs and cooking instructions.
- Measure, prepare, and mix ingredients according to recipes, using appropriate utensils and equipment.
- Package, label, and inventory ingredients and products.
- Check product quality, review "sell by" dates, and take appropriate action.
- Properly use kitchen equipment including stoves, scales, fryers, steamers, etc.
- Label, stock, and inventory merchandise.
- Report discrepancies in product ordering/shipping.
- Understand store layout and locate products for customers.
- Stay current with ads and promotions.
- Maintain knowledge of products and respond to customer questions and suggestions.
- Monitor inventory and stocking conditions, noting discrepancies.
- Ensure proper temperatures in cases and coolers, maintaining logs.
- Promote trust and respect among staff.
- Create a welcoming environment for customers.
- Adhere to food safety regulations and guidelines.
- Follow safety procedures, identify unsafe conditions, and report them.
- Inspect equipment and notify management of repairs needed.
- Report customer or employee accidents.
- Work cooperatively in a high-paced environment.
- Manage conflicts reasonably and cooperatively.
- Act with honesty and integrity regarding customer and business information.
- Follow directions and seek assistance to resolve issues.
- Support interactions with minors, individuals with special needs, and older adults.
