Responsibilities

Essential Job Functions:

• Grocery Clerk (Bakery/Deli) will prepare items per customer requests using proper bakery equipment.
• Offer product samples to help customers discover new items or inquire about products.
• Inform customers of bakery and/or deli specials.
• Provide customers with fresh products ordered, ensuring correct portion sizes to prevent shrink.
• Recommend deli or bakery items to customers.
• Use bakery equipment such as refrigerators, freezers, slicers, and ovens according to guidelines.
• Prepare foods following temperature logs and cooking instructions.
• Measure, prepare, and mix ingredients according to recipes.
• Properly prepare, package, label, and inventory ingredients.
• Check product quality for freshness and review "sell by" dates.
• Use kitchen equipment properly, including stove, scales, fryer, steamer, and robot coupe.
• Label, stock, and inventory department merchandise.
• Report discrepancies in product ordering/shipping.
• Understand store layout to locate products for customers.
• Stay updated with current, seasonal, and promotional ads.
• Maintain knowledge of products to respond to questions and make suggestions.
• Monitor inventory conditions and note discrepancies.
• Ensure proper temperature maintenance in cases and coolers, maintaining logs.
• Create a welcoming environment for customers.
• Adhere to food safety regulations and guidelines.
• Follow safety procedures, identify unsafe conditions, and notify management.
• Inspect equipment regularly and report repairs needed.
• Notify management of accidents.
• Work cooperatively in high-paced, stressful environments.
• Manage conflicts reasonably and cooperatively.
• Act with honesty and integrity regarding customer and business information.
• Follow directions and seek assistance when needed.
• Support interactions with minors, individuals with special needs, and older adults.
• Perform essential functions with or without reasonable accommodation.

Qualifications
