Job Description

Create an outstanding customer experience through exceptional service. Establish and maintain a safe and clean environment that encourages our customers to return. Assist the department manager in reaching sales and profit goals established for the department and monitor all established quality assurance standards. Responsibilities

Essential Job Functions:

• Prepare bakery and deli items according to customer requests using proper equipment.
• Offer product samples to help customers discover new items or inquire about products.
• Inform customers of bakery and/or deli specials.
• Provide customers with fresh products in correct portions to prevent shrinkage.
• Recommend bakery or deli items to customers to meet their needs.
• Use bakery equipment such as refrigerators, freezers, slicers, and ovens following company guidelines.
• Prepare foods according to food safety protocols and recipes.
• Measure, prepare, and mix ingredients using appropriate utensils and equipment.
• Package, label, and inventory ingredients and merchandise.
• Check product quality, review "sell by" dates, and take necessary actions.
• Maintain proper temperatures in cases and coolers; keep logs updated.
• Stock and label merchandise, report discrepancies, and manage inventory.
• Understand store layout and assist customers in locating products.
• Stay current with promotions and product knowledge to assist customers effectively.
• Promote a welcoming environment and adhere to food safety and safety procedures.
• Report unsafe conditions, participate in safety programs, and notify management of accidents.
• Work cooperatively in a high-paced environment, manage conflicts, and act with integrity.
• Support and assist diverse customers, including minors, individuals with special needs, and older adults.
• Perform all essential functions with or without reasonable accommodations.

Qualifications

Minimum Position Qualifications:

• Customer service skills
• Effective communication skills
• Basic math knowledge
• Ability to obtain a food handler permit upon employment
