Job description

Assist the department manager in reaching sales and profit goals established for the department and monitor all established quality assurance standards. Responsibilities

1. Essential Job Functions:
2. Grocery Clerk (Bakery/Deli) will prepare items per customer requests using proper bakery equipment.
3. Offer product samples to help customers discover new items or inquire about products.
4. Inform customers of bakery and/or deli specials.
5. Provide customers with fresh products and correct portions to prevent shrink.
6. Recommend deli or bakery items to customers.
7. Use bakery equipment such as refrigerators, freezers, slicers, and ovens according to company guidelines.
8. Prepare foods following temperature logs and cooking instructions.
9. Measure, prepare, and mix ingredients according to recipes using appropriate utensils and equipment.
10. Package, label, and inventory ingredients.
11. Check product quality for freshness, review "sell by" dates, and take appropriate actions.
12. Label, stock, and inventory department merchandise.
13. Report discrepancies in product ordering/shipping to the manager.
14. Understand store layout and locate products for customers.
15. Stay current with advertisements and promotions.
16. Maintain knowledge of department products and respond to customer questions and suggestions.
17. Monitor inventory/stocking conditions and report discrepancies.
18. Ensure proper temperatures in cases and coolers, and maintain logs.
19. Promote trust and respect among associates.
20. Create a welcoming environment for customers.
21. Adhere to food safety regulations and guidelines.
22. Follow safety procedures, identify unsafe conditions, and notify management.
23. Practice preventive maintenance on equipment and report repairs.
24. Notify management of accidents involving customers or employees.
25. Work cooperatively in high-paced, stressful environments.
26. Manage conflicts in a non-confrontational manner.
27. Act with honesty and integrity regarding customer and business information.
28. Follow directions and seek assistance when needed.
29. Support and assist minors, individuals with special needs, and older adults.
30. Perform essential functions with or without reasonable accommodation.

Qualifications
