Brookshire Grocery Company is seeking a bakery decorator to plan and decorate cakes and other desserts. You will assist with daily bakery operations and uphold customer service standards in a retail setting.

The role requires creativity in decorating, precision with decorating tools, and the ability to work flexible hours including nights and weekends. Food handler certification is required, with decorator certification preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is preferred.
• Minimum 18 years of age required.
• Food Handler certification is required.
• Decorator certification desirable.
• Experience with cake decorating and icing color matching preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepares, ices, and decorates cakes and other baked goods for display or customer requests.
• Traces and copies drawings onto cakes using templates or free-hand sketches.
• Identifies, matches, and blends icing colors; judges texture and taste.
• Selects decorating materials and tools; works under time pressure.
• Cleans and maintains equipment; ensures safety and sanitation.
• Stays current with decorating trends and plans production with promotions.
• Promotes product sales through suggestive selling.
