Job summary

Brookshire Grocery Company (BGC) is seeking a Bakery Decorator to plan and decorate cakes and other baked goods, assist with daily bakery operations, and promote excellent customer service. The role requires a high school diploma or GED, 6+ months related experience, and 18+ years of age to operate equipment.

Qualifications

• HS diploma or GED with 6+ months related experience preferred.
• Must be 18+ to operate or clean motorized equipment.
• Food Handler certification required.
• Decorator certification desirable.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, ice, and decorate cakes and baked goods for display or requests.
• Trace and copy drawings onto cakes using templates or free-hand sketches.
• Identify, match, and blend icing colors and assess texture, aroma, flavor and taste.
• Select appropriate decorating materials and tools and act quickly under time pressure.
• Maintain clean, safe, sanitary work area following company procedures.
• Promote product sales through suggestive selling.
