Responsibilities

• Assist in supervising, training, coaching, and developing bakery associates.
• Provide direction and support to associates to ensure efficient daily operations.
• Promote a positive work environment focused on teamwork, accountability, and customer service.
• Assist with scheduling and labor planning to meet business needs.
• Serve as department leader in the Bakery Manager's absence.
• Deliver exceptional customer service and resolve customer concerns promptly.
• Ensure associates provide friendly, courteous, and knowledgeable service.
• Promote custom cake orders, specialty bakery items, and seasonal programs.
• Maintain an inviting shopping environment that enhances the customer experience.
• Execute company merchandising programs, promotions, and seasonal displays.
• Ensure bakery cases and displays are fully stocked, attractive, and properly signed.
• Monitor sales trends and assist in implementing plans to increase sales and profitability.
• Maintain appropriate inventory levels to support sales and minimize shrink.
• Assist in overseeing bakery production to ensure adequate product availability.
• Verify products meet company standards for quality, freshness, and presentation.
• Support production planning for holidays, promotions, and peak business periods.
• Ensure proper rotation and handling of all bakery products.
• Maintain compliance with all food safety, sanitation, and health regulations.
• Ensure associates follow proper procedures for food handling, storage, and production.
• Conduct regular department inspections to maintain cleanliness and safety standards.
• Adhere to all company policies and operating procedures.
• Assist with inventory control, ordering, receiving, and invoice reconciliation.
• Monitor department shrink and implement programs to reduce product loss.
• Support achievement of department sales, gross margin, and labor goals.
• Maintain appropriate supply levels and manage department expenses.
