Job summary

El Super in Lawndale, CA is hiring a Bakery Clerk to provide friendly, efficient service in the bakery department. Under supervision from the Bakery Manager, you will assist customers, maintain displays, and help with special orders and decoration coordination.

The role requires physical activity including lifting and standing, and a Food Handler Card or equivalent certification is required for food preparation-related duties.

Qualifications

• Reads and comprehends simple instructions and labels.
• Writes simple correspondence.
• Able to present information one-on-one and in small groups to customers and coworkers.
• Can follow written or oral instructions.
• Physically able to lift up to 60 pounds as needed.

Responsibilities

• Assist customers with bakery purchases and inquiries.
• Clean shelves and display cases; rotate and replenish self-serve displays.
• Collaborate with the Baker on items to be baked or decorated and handle special orders.
• Support department cleaning, including floor care and overall bakery cleanliness.
