Job summary

El Super #19 in Phoenix is seeking a Bakery Clerk to provide friendly, efficient service in the bakery department. Under direct supervision from the Bakery Manager, you will assist customers, stock displays, and help with special orders.

This role requires physical stamina to lift up to 60 pounds, basic computer skills, and a Food Handler Card. The position offers a fast-paced environment and opportunities to learn alongside skilled bakers.

Qualifications

• Read and comprehend simple instructions, product labels, shelf tags, short correspondence, and memos.
• Write simple correspondence.
• Effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers and coworkers.
• Apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions.
• Regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 45 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 60 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Provide friendly, courteous customer service in the bakery department.
• Assist customers with bakery purchases, stock shelves and maintain self-serve displays.
• Take special orders and collaborate with the Baker to determine items to bake or decorate.
• Department cleaning, including hosing down floors with soap and water to ensure cleanliness.
