Job summary

Sprouts Farmers Market, Inc. in Irvine, CA is seeking a Bakery Clerk to prepare, bake, and package baked goods while delivering excellent customer service in a fast-paced environment.

You will assist in pricing, merchandising, stocking, and maintaining a clean, safe bakery area, with duties including taking special orders and answering phones. Must be reliable, flexible, and team-oriented.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years or older with a HS diploma or equivalent; 1–2 years bakery experience preferred.
• Reliable with flexible schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays.
• Outgoing, friendly demeanor with ability to interact with customers.
• Good communication skills; able to take direction and work in a team.
• Able to answer phones and take special orders.
• Perform general housekeeping in the department; clean/sanitize work area.
• Able to operate knives, scales, wrappers, compactors, garbage disposals, pallet jacks, and hand trucks.
• Stand up to 3 hours continuously, lift up to 40 lbs., and maneuver items over distance as needed.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Bakery Manager in preparing, baking, packaging, pricing, and merchandising all baked goods
• Provide high level of customer service and ensure items are prepared, packaged, and presented; maintain bakery cleanliness
• Maintain clean, safe, and sanitary bakery area and equipment; clean shelves and floors
• Stock, fill, face, and ensure pricing accuracy; rotate products and discard outdated items
• Receive, inspect, and log products for accuracy of shipment, temperature, and quality
• Answer phones and take special orders
