Job summary

Smith's Food & Drug Centers seeks a bakery associate to deliver outstanding customer service and maintain a clean, safe bakery area. You will assist the department manager in meeting sales and quality standards while encouraging a welcoming environment for customers.

Candidates should have bakery experience, a high school diploma or equivalent, and be able to communicate in a second language. You must meet physical demands and obtain a food handler permit after employment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Bakery experience is preferred.
• Second language (speaking, reading, and/or writing) is a plus.
• Ability to handle stressful situations with composure.
• Knowledge of basic math is required.
• Current food handlers permit required after employment.
• Must be able to meet the minimum physical demands and be at least 18 years old.

Responsibilities

• Create an outstanding customer experience through exceptional service.
• Assist with maintaining a safe and clean bakery environment.
• Support department manager to reach sales and profit goals for the department.
• Adhere to all local, state, and federal health and civil code regulations.
• Maintain cleanliness of counters, cases and coolers.
• Respond to customer questions regarding products and provide recommendations.
