Overview of Responsibilities

At Sprouts Farmers Market, the Bakery Clerk is responsible for preparing and packaging all baked goods.

• Assist the Bakery Manager in preparing, baking, packaging, pricing, and merchandising baked goods.
• Provide high-quality customer service and ensure bakery items are properly prepared, packaged, and presented, maintaining cleanliness of the bakery area.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and sanitary bakery environment, including cleaning shelves, products, floors, and equipment.
• Stock, fill, face, and ensure accurate pricing while managing product rotation and discarding outdated items.
• Receive, inspect, and log shipments for accuracy, temperature, and quality.
• Thrive in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

To be a Bakery Clerk at Sprouts Farmers Market, you must:

• Be at least 18 years old with a high school diploma or equivalent; 1-2 years bakery experience preferred, or an acceptable combination of education and experience.
• Be dependable, reliable, and able to work a flexible schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays.
• Be outgoing, friendly, and positive, with strong customer interaction skills.
• Have good communication skills and the ability to work in a team.
• Be capable of answering phones and taking special orders.
• Perform general housekeeping, cleaning, and sanitizing of the work area.
• Operate tools and equipment such as knives, scales, wrappers, and hand trucks, with knowledge of weight measures for accurate labeling.
• Stand for up to 3 hours continuously, and handle trays and items weighing up to 40 lbs., with appropriate physical capability.
• Adhere to safety, health, and regulatory standards, including maintaining a Food Handlers permit.

Pay Range

The hourly pay range is $16.65 - $21.65, based on experience and qualifications.
