Job summary

Hy-Vee is seeking a Bakery Cake Designer in our Bakery Department in Indiana. You will bring customer visions to life on birthday, everyday, and wedding cakes, including on-site delivery and setup for weddings. You will lead part-time staff and collaborate with the bakery team to maintain smooth production.

The role emphasizes decorating creativity, attention to detail, and delivering memorable customer experiences. Experience in cake design and strong communication are essential.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Six months or less of similar or related work experience; training will be provided.
• Strong decorating skills and a passion for customer service.

Responsibilities

• Greet customers with a smile and take bakery orders.
• Check daily orders, set up timelines and production schedules.
• Decorate bakery items and stay current on new designs.
• Develop daily bakery orders for bakers (cakes and sizes).
• Lead and train part-time employees and supervise the bakery team.
• Ensure sanitation standards and safe work environment.
