Job summary

Kroger Family of Companies is seeking a bakery associate to deliver outstanding customer service in a busy bakery department. You will assist customers, answer questions about products, and help prepare and decorate bakery items, including wedding cakes, using proper equipment.

The role requires cake decorating experience, retail exposure, and strong communication skills to maintain high quality and freshness of products while ensuring safety and store standards.

Qualifications

• Bakery/cake decorating experience required.
• Retail experience preferred.
• Ability to handle stressful situations.

• Knowledge of basic math.

Responsibilities

• Create an environment where customers feel welcome and valued by answering questions about bakery products.
• Gain knowledge of products and respond to questions with product suggestions.
• Prepare bakery items, including wedding cakes, per customer requests using bakery equipment.
• Decorate cakes, pastries, cupcakes, cookies and other bakery items.
• Label, stock, sign and inventory department merchandise.
• Check product quality, ensure freshness and review sell-by dates.
