Job summary

The GIANT Company in New Cumberland, PA is seeking a bakery team member to start shifts, prep for duties, and create cakes with frosting. You will take and store orders, maintain clean surfaces, and follow safety standards.

This role requires 60-day probation, ability to lift up to 50 lbs, and reliable attendance. Prior work or training is preferred; authorize to work in the U.S. and basic reading/writing are expected.

Qualifications

• Must be authorized to work in the U.S.
• Must have valid identification.
• Must be able to read, write, and communicate in order to complete job duties in a satisfactory manner and to comply with company policies and safety regulations.
• Must complete the company introductory (probationary) period of 60 days.
• Must meet the ergonomic and physical requirements, as well as the physical base scores for this position.
• Must be able to use, or learn to use, the equipment and tools used to perform this job.
• Must be able to perform all job functions safely.
• Must meet the company performance standards for the job including regular attendance.
• Must agree to wear the proper assigned clothes and shoes approved for this job.
• 1 year of work experience or technical training preferred.

Responsibilities

• Review the work schedule, check equipment and supplies required, and prepare for duties at the start of the shift.
• Mix frosting, color frosting, make cones, load cones, frost cakes, and decorate cakes with colored frosting.
• Take orders, complete orders, and store orders in the bakery cooler.
• Clean and sanitize all work surfaces, tools, equipment, display cases, floors and counters.
• Track and record loss.
• Demonstrate proper food safety and sanitation work habits.
