BAKERY/CAKE DECORATOR (Finance)

Create an outstanding customer experience through exceptional service. Establish and maintain a safe and clean environment that encourages customers to return. Assist the department manager in reaching sales and profit goals established for the department and monitor all established quality assurance standards. Minimum Qualifications:

• Retail experience
• Bakery or cake decorating experience
• Ability to handle stressful situations
• Basic math skills
• Effective communication skills

Desired Qualifications:

• Second language skills: speaking, reading, and/or writing
• Ability to create a welcoming environment for customers by answering questions and providing product suggestions
• Knowledge of products sold within the department and throughout the store
• Ability to offer product samples and prepare bakery items, including wedding cakes, per customer requests using proper bakery equipment
• Skill in decorating cakes, pastries, cupcakes, cookies, and other bakery items
• Labeling, stocking, signing, and inventory management
• Reporting discrepancies in product ordering/shipping to the department manager
• Understanding store layout to assist customers in locating products
• Maintaining awareness of inventory and stock conditions
• Adherence to health, safety, and civil regulations
• Following merchandising, customer service, labor, expense, loss prevention, safety, and food safety protocols
• Practicing safety by following procedures and reporting unsafe conditions
• Performing preventive maintenance and reporting equipment issues
• Reporting safety risks, illegal activities, and accidents to management
