Assist the department manager in reaching sales and profit goals established for the department, and monitor all established quality assurance standards. Responsibilities
  1. Promote trust and respect among associates.
  2. Create an environment that enables customers to feel welcome, important, and appreciated by answering questions regarding products sold within the department and throughout the store.
  3. Gain and maintain knowledge of products sold within the department and respond to questions and make suggestions about products.
  4. Prepare bakery items per customer requests using proper bakery equipment.
  5. Offer product samples to help customers discover new items or products they inquire about.
  6. Inform customers of bakery specials.
  7. Provide customers with fresh products they have ordered and the correct portion size to prevent shrink.
  8. Recommend bakery items to customers to ensure they get the products they want and need.
  9. Use all bakery equipment such as refrigerators, freezers, slicers, and ovens according to company guidelines.
  10. Prepare foods according to food safety protocols, including temperature logs and cooking instructions.
  11. Measure, prepare, and mix ingredients according to recipes, using appropriate utensils and equipment.
  12. Properly prepare, package, label, and inventory ingredients and merchandise.
  13. Check product quality to ensure freshness, reviewing "sell by" dates and taking appropriate actions.
  14. Properly use kitchen equipment including stoves, scales, fryers, steamers, and robots.
  15. Label, stock, and inventory department merchandise.
  16. Report product ordering/shipping discrepancies to the department manager.
  17. Display a positive attitude and maintain store layout knowledge to assist customers.
  18. Stay current with store promotions, seasonal, and special ads.
  19. Maintain inventory and stocking conditions, noting discrepancies.
  20. Adhere to all food safety regulations and guidelines.
  21. Maintain proper temperatures in cases and coolers, keeping logs.
  22. Follow safety procedures, identify unsafe conditions, and notify management.
  23. Inspect equipment regularly and report repairs needed.
  24. Report customer or employee accidents and any safety risks or illegal activities.
  25. Perform essential functions of the position with or without reasonable accommodations.
Qualifications
