Job summary

Hy-Vee is seeking a Bakery Clerk to join the Bakery Department. You will greet customers, help them find items, and assist with orders. You’ll maintain product freshness, assist with prep and replenishment, and uphold sanitation standards in a busy bakery environment.

No prior bakery experience is required; on-the-job training will be provided. This role is day-to-day customer service in a store setting with opportunities to contribute to a welcoming experience for shoppers.

Qualifications

• No prior experience required; training provided.
• Basic math skills for counting and recording.
• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.

Responsibilities

• Greet customers and provide friendly service at the bakery counter.
• Assist customers in finding products and taking orders.
• Monitor product freshness and supply levels during shifts.
• Prepare, finish and replenish baked goods as needed.
• Maintain sanitation and a clean, organized work area.
• Operate the store register to process payments where applicable.
• Collaborate with teammates to ensure a positive customer experience.
