Job summary

ShopRite of Bayonne is seeking a Baker to support the Bakery Manager in daily operations, including baking, dough mixing, icing, packaging, and filling of pastry and bread items. You will maintain a clean, attractive department and assist with safe production and service.

The role requires good English communication, physical stamina to lift up to 50 lbs, and the ability to work in varying temperatures. Friendly customer interaction is essential.

Qualifications

• Proficient reading, writing, speaking, and comprehension of English.
• Able to stand/walk for the duration of a scheduled shift.
• Able to lift 25 lbs. and occasionally 50 lbs.
• Able to work in varying temperatures.
• Able to interact with customers in a friendly and helpful way.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a clean, neat, organized and safe work environment.
• Maintain department sanitation and QA standards (safety, personal hygiene, clean cases, equipment).
• Clean and sanitize all work surfaces, utensils and equipment per standards.
• Greet customers and provide prompt, courteous service and assistance.
• Rotate product to ensure freshness.
• Prepare merchandise and assist in Bakery operations.
• Follow recipes to produce food items as specified.
• Dress and groom according to policy; manage uniforms and hygiene.
• Perform duties in accordance with QA and safety regulations.
