Job summary

Giant Eagle, Inc. is seeking a part-time Baker to join our Bakery team in Youngstown. The role focuses on preparing and baking products to ensure freshness and quality, while delivering outstanding guest service. You’ll work with scratch recipes, manage temperatures, and assist customers with recommendations.

Ideal candidates have basic bakery experience, can lift up to 50 pounds, and enjoy working in a team-driven environment. Great opportunity to grow within Giant Eagle’s Bakery department.

Qualifications

• Satisfactory completion of job-specific skills assessment.
• 6–12 months experience or successful completion of Giant Eagle Apprenticeship program
• Prior experience working in Bakery preferred
• No High School diploma required

Responsibilities

• Perform bench work according to established scratch procedures.
• Prepare products and form them to specifications.
• Bake prepared products at correct time and temperature.
• Prepare Bakery products according to fast scratch recipes.
• Operate proof box controls and ensure proper size/shape of products.
• Prepare and fry donuts according to procedures.
• Manage freezer to preserve freshness.
• Assist guests by answering questions and suggesting products.
• Provide exemplary customer service by helping guests locate items.
