Job summary

Giant Eagle, Inc. is seeking a Bakery Team Member (Baker) to join our bakery team.

You will be responsible for preparing and baking products to ensure the freshest items are available for guests, while delivering exceptional guest service and building relationships with customers. You will work with scratch recipes, follow established procedures, and maintain safety and sanitation standards to meet department quality.

Qualifications

• Satisfactory completion of job specific skills assessment; 6 to 12 months experience or successful completion of the Giant Eagle Apprenticeship program
• Prior experience working in Bakery or related industry
• No High School diploma required

Responsibilities

• Perform bench work according to established scratch procedures when necessary.
• Prepare product and form product to specifications as required according to scratch recipes.
• Bake prepared product using appropriate time and temperature as specified by recipe.
• Prepare Bakery products according to established recipes which include scratch recipes.
• Maintain safety and sanitation regulations to ensure department standards are met.
• Provide exemplary customer service by greeting customers and helping them locate products.
