Job summary

Giant Eagle, Inc. is hiring a Bakery Team Member to help prepare and bake fresh goods for the Bakery department. The role focuses on using high-quality ingredients, maintaining product freshness, and delivering excellent guest service to customers.

As part of the Bakery team, you will understand and meet customer needs, assist in backroom operations, and ensure safety and sanitation standards are followed. The position emphasizes teamwork and consistent, friendly service.

Qualifications

• Experience Required: Satisfactory completion of job specific skills assessment; 6 to 12 months experience or successful completion of the Giant Eagle Apprenticeship program
• Experience Desired: Prior experience working in Bakery or related industry
• Education Desired: No High School diploma required

Responsibilities

• Perform bench work according to established scratch procedures when necessary.
• Prepare product and form product to specifications as required according to scratch recipes.
• Bake prepared product using appropriate time and temperature as specified by recipe.
• Prepare Bakery products according to established recipes which include scratch recipes.
• Keep proper controls and sizing by using the proof box appropriately.
• Prepare and fry donuts according to established procedures.
• Maintain proper safety and sanitation methods and keep area clean.
• Greet customers and help them locate products, while suggesting options.
