Job summary

Giant Eagle, Inc. is seeking an Apprentice Baker to learn all aspects of the Bakery Department, including Clerk functions and Cake Decorator functions.

You’ll focus on baker duties with support from a collaborative team, developing culinary skills while providing service that delights guests. This role emphasizes creativity, a strong work ethic, and a passion for exceptional pastries and customer engagement.

Qualifications

• Experience in bakery or related industry is a plus.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced bakery environment.
• Strong communication and guest service skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform bench work according to established scratch procedures.
• Prepare product and form product to specifications as required according to scratch recipes.
• Bake prepared product using appropriate time and temperature as specified by recipe.
• Properly insert products into proof box, set controls, and close door to ensure proper size and shape of product.
• Maintain safety and sanitation as top priority; greet customers and assist with product location and suggestions.
