Giant Eagle is seeking an Apprentice Baker to help ensure pastries look and taste amazing while delivering excellent guest service. You will assist in creating beautiful bakery art, produce quality bakery items, and support the Bakery Department across Clerk and Cake Decorator functions.

This entry-level role is ideal for someone with minimal or no retail decorating experience and a passion for baking and teamwork.

Qualifications

• Experience required: 0–6 months in bakery or related industry.
• Education: No high school diploma required.
• Age: Must be at least 18 years old.
• Physical: Lift up to 50 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Perform bench work and prepare products to scratch recipes.
• Bake products and ensure correct time/temperature.
• Maintain safety and sanitation.
• Provide exemplary customer service and assist customers.
• Assist in maintaining bakery backroom, coolers, and freezers.
• Rotate stock and ensure freshest product on display.
• Record special orders accurately.
