Job summary

Levain Bakery is seeking a Baker Team Leader to oversee shifts, supervise staff, and maintain the high quality of our baked goods. You will lead with care, mentor teammates, and ensure procedures are followed from mixing to baking.

The role requires hands-on leadership in a fast-paced bakery environment with a strong emphasis on consistency and teamwork. Ideal candidates bring 1–2 years of supervisory baking experience, a readiness to train others, and excellent communication.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1-2 years of baking experience and 1-2 years in supervision preferred.
• Open availability for mornings, nights, weekends, and holidays.
• Ability to lift/push 50 pounds and stand 8 hours.
• Read and communicate in English; basic computer skills (Email, MS Office).
• Must have DOH and regional food handler certifications.

Responsibilities

• Lead with curiosity and compassion, mentoring and coaching team members.
• Set shift tone and maintain a positive, team-oriented culture.
• Supervise, support challenges, and drive performance improvements.
• Provide feedback and coaching, improve baking knowledge and skills.
• Oversee training sessions for Bakers and new hires.
• Delegate station assignments as needed.
• Prepare baked goods following Levain recipes and processes.
• Ensure proper scaling, mixing, shaping, proofing, and baking techniques.
• Monitor times/temps to maintain quality and consistency.
• Manage daily pars to meet quality standards and customer demand.
• Oversee daily inventory checks and FIFO ingredient flow.
• Place orders for baking ingredients and manage stock levels.
