Our Apprentice Baker is a key player in ensuring our pastries look and taste amazing. In addition to providing excellent guest service, you'll help create beautiful and delicious treats for our guests and contribute to the success of parties and events. Key responsibilities include producing high-quality bakery products that meet customer requirements and building customer loyalty through exemplary service. This role offers an exciting opportunity to learn all aspects of the Bakery Department, including Clerk and Cake Decorator functions. You will focus on baker duties, especially if you have minimal or no retail decorating experience.

Job Description

• Experience Required: 0 to 6 months
• Experience Desired: Prior experience in a bakery or related industry
• Education Desired: No high school diploma required
• Lifting Requirement: Up to 50 pounds
• Age Requirement: At least 18 years of age

Job Responsibilities

• Perform bench work according to established scratch procedures as needed.
• Prepare and shape products according to recipes.
• Bake products using specified times and temperatures.
• Insert products into proof boxes, set controls, and ensure proper size and shape.
• Prepare and fry donuts following established procedures.
• Store products in the freezer to maintain freshness.
• Demonstrate suggestive selling techniques and offer samples when appropriate.
• Prioritize safety in all tasks for team members, guests, and products.
• Provide excellent customer service by greeting customers, helping locate products, and answering questions.
• Handle products and equipment following food safety guidelines.
• Maintain cleanliness of equipment, work areas, and storage spaces.
• Bake and rotate products in bakery cases, ensuring freshness and proper dating.
• Follow safety, sanitation, and housekeeping standards.
• Record special orders accurately to ensure customer satisfaction.
• Understand ingredients and their roles in baking.
• Assemble ingredients for baking operations.
• Assist with unloading deliveries and maintaining backroom efficiency.
• Support other areas of the bakery as needed.
