Gjelina Restaurant in NoHo on Bond St. seeksa dedicated and skilled Baker Cookto join our dynamic kitchen team. We’re known for our high-volume, ingredient-focused menus, and we’re looking for someone with a strong work ethic, precision, and passion for baking to help elevate our daily offerings.
Position Overview:
As a Baker Cook, you will be responsible for preparing a variety of baked goods, including breads, scones, cookies, pies, and more, executing both traditional and modern recipes.You willsupport the team in maintaining quality, consistency, and cleanliness throughout the kitchenwhile adhering to food safety and health standards.
Key Responsibilities:
Prepare and bakeproducts according to set recipes and quality standards.
Follow portion, presentation, and sanitation guidelines as directed by the Chef.
Maintain an organized, clean, and efficient station throughout your shift.
Use and maintain all baking equipment properly and safely.
Support the kitchen team as needed with prep and general kitchen tasks.
Manage time effectively byNY labor laws, including meal/rest breaks and check-in/out protocols.
Qualifications & Skills:
1–2 years of baking or related kitchen experience preferred.
Strong understanding of baking techniques, ingredient handling, and knife skills.
Ability to follow written and verbal directions and recipes precisely.
Team player with a calm, professional demeanor in a fast-paced environment.
Self-motivated, organized, and eager to learn and grow.
NY Food Handler Certification & Sexual Harassment Prevention Training (or willingness to obtain).
Physical Requirements:
Ability to stand and walk for extended periods (8–12 hours).
Must be able to lift and carry up to 40 lbs. and handle repetitive motion tasks.
Comfortable bending, reaching, and working in a physically active kitchen setting.
