Breads Bakery is seeking passionate, purposeful bakers to join our team. We are a New York bakery dedicated to producing handmade breads and pastries using traditional techniques, providing our guests with an unforgettable experience. Our bread team has received accolades, including the Public Prize and Grand Prix for Best Baguette awarded by French Morning. This position may require working at two locations: Union Square (our flagship on 16th St) and the Upper East Side (74th and 3rd).

Responsibilities & Expectations:

1. Recognize the importance of professionalism and respect, exemplifying this in interactions with vendors and coworkers.
2. Assist in all aspects of production, including but not limited to scaling, mixing, sheeting, proofing, and baking.
3. Maintain proper inventory and quality, adjusting workflows as needed.
4. Keep the workspace clean, safe, and aesthetically pleasing, following sanitation guidelines.
5. Follow instructions from managers and supervisors, ensuring responsibilities are met or exceeded.
6. Create consistent, high-quality products and communicate concerns when standards are not met.
7. Foster a positive work environment aligned with Breads Bakery’s values.

Skills & Requirements:

1. At least one year of professional experience in bread making, proofing, and dough handling.
2. Formal education in culinary arts, pastry, or bread making is preferred but not required.
3. Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, physically demanding environment.
4. Strong communication, interpersonal skills, problem-solving abilities, and multitasking skills.
5. Ability to work independently or as part of a team.
6. Availability to work early mornings, holidays, and weekends.
7. Ability to stand for full shifts and lift 50+ lbs.
8. Must be 18 or older and authorized to work in the U.S.

1. $20-22/hour.
