Job summary

Socket.dev seeks a Control Room Operator (Dispatcher) to monitor the Baggage Handling System at Burbank International Airport. The role serves as a central link among operations, maintenance, and airline partners to maintain system performance and safety, responding promptly to alarms and faults.

Responsibilities include real-time monitoring via SCADA/HMI/CMMS, logging incidents, and coordinating with technicians to execute corrective actions while following SOPs and shift schedules.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; technical or vocational certification preferred.
• 2 years of experience in operations, control room, or industrial systems monitoring.
• Familiarity with SCADA/HMI systems and CMMS platforms such as Maximo or similar.
• Strong communication skills and ability to multitask in high-pressure, time-sensitive situations.
• Basic knowledge of mechanical and electrical system operations.

Responsibilities

• Monitor real-time operation of the Baggage Handling System (BHS) through SCADA, HMI, or CMMS interfaces.
• Identify and report alarms, faults, or abnormal equipment performance to maintenance teams for action.
• Coordinate with Bag Jammers, Maintenance Technicians, and Supervisors to plan corrective activities.
• Log and track incidents and responses in accordance with standards.
• Control and restart equipment remotely after ensuring personnel safety.
