Job summary

Health IT NEWS.Direct! seeks a Control Room Operator (Dispatcher) to monitor and coordinate the Baggage Handling System at Burbank International Airport. You will interact with operations, maintenance, and airline partners to ensure safety, system uptime, and timely alarm responses.

You will leverage SCADA/HMI and CMMS tools, maintain incident logs, and support testing and maintenance activities to keep baggage flowing smoothly across processing areas.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; technical/vocational certification preferred.
• 2 years of experience in operations, control room, or industrial systems monitoring; airport/logistics desirable.
• Familiarity with SCADA/HMI systems and CMMS platforms such as Maximo.
• Strong communication skills and ability to multitask in high-pressure situations.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook).
• Ability to obtain/maintain airport security credentials and a U.S. driver's license.

Responsibilities

• Monitor real-time operation of the BHS via SCADA/HMI/CMMS interfaces.
• Identify and report alarms or faults to maintenance for action.
• Coordinate with Bag Jammers, Technicians, and Supervisors for corrective activities.
• Log incidents and responses per reporting standards.
• Remotely restart equipment after safety clearance.
• Provide status updates on baggage flow and system performance to operations.
• Follow SOPs for emergency stops and lockouts.
• Assist in preventive/corrective maintenance verification in CMMS.
• Support testing, troubleshooting, and commissioning tasks.
• Keep the control room secure, organized, and focused on system integrity.
• Participate in training to stay current with system changes and safety procedures.
