Job summary

BEUMER Group is seeking a Control Room Operator to monitor and coordinate the BEUMER baggage handling system at Gerald R. Ford International Airport (GRR).

You will report faults to Maintenance Technicians and log downtime to minimize system stoppages, supporting ICS operations in a high-traffic airport environment. The role requires a High School diploma, 2+ years in baggage handling or automated systems, and the ability to obtain airside security clearance.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• 2+ years experience in baggage handling systems or automated material handling.
• Eligible to obtain and maintain airside security clearance.
• Able to operate in a fast-paced airport setting with exposure to noise and moving machinery.
• Willingness to work nights, weekends, and holidays on a rotating shift.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate execution of operational procedures during normal operations or system failures.
• Provide accurate fault reports to technical staff for quick resolution.
• Complete handover reports during shift changes.
• Maintain contact with operations staff about issues needing intervention.
• Liaise with management regarding daily operations.
• Monitor baggage system performance and operator outputs.
• Prepare operation shift reports and analyze problems to prevent recurrence.
