Project Overview

The Platform Services Organization is building a new unified developer portal to provide a single entry point for all technologists to access platform services.

This role will focus on platform orchestration, connecting the Backstage front end to backend systems such as Terraform, AWS, and CI/CD pipelines.

Top Skills / Must-Haves

• Backstage (backend modules/plugins – not frontend)
• Golang (Go)
• TypeScript
• AWS platform services
• API integration & orchestration experience

Nice-to-Haves

• Node.js / Express
• Python (acceptable if strong in Backstage + AWS)
• Terraform
• Experience building developer portals or internal developer platforms
• Strong communication and collaboration skills

Responsibilities

• Develop orchestration services connecting Backstage with Terraform, AWS, and CI/CD pipelines
• Build and maintain Backstage backend modules and plugins
• Develop serverless components (AWS Lambda using Go or Python)
• Collaborate with solution architects and principal engineers to define the orchestration layer
• Participate in architectural discussions and best practices for developer platforms

Team / Environment

Initial project team: 7–8 engineers (part of a 19-person orchestration org)

Highly collaborative, agile environment
